The Trees for Thanet Groups first Award! It came with a £500 cheque that was soon planted. The only snag was that planting had to be done in the week 10th- 18th May and it was decided to put pot grown plants into Shottendane Copse (Site2)!Work had already commenced on the first hedgerow project (The Millenium Hedgerow) and it was this project that probably impressed the judges most.
This was the first but not the last 'Award' and if money was attached as well, all the better as it enabled planting to happen.
